Ashley Graham’s plastic surgery during a candid TODAY show appearance. The 38-year-old model and body positivity activist revealed she hasn’t had any procedures yet but remains open to the possibility later in life. “I’m totally not opposed to getting a facelift in my 50s,” she shared on the March 17 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Sheinelle. “There are options.”
Ashley Graham’s Conversation About Cosmetic Procedures
Graham and co-host Sheinelle Jones discussed the growing openness around plastic surgery. Their conversation began with Wendi McLendon-Covey skipping the Bridesmaids reunion at the Oscars because she received a neck lift.

“I feel like there’s more conversation around plastic surgery, and people are talking about what they’ve had and what they want to get,” the Victoria’s Secret Angel explained. “You know what, good for her. We’re also going to be like, ‘Dang, she looks so good,’ when she comes back.”
Jones, 47, added that this transparency removes the stigma: “That way, you take the sting out of it, as opposed to being back out on the red carpet and people being like, ‘Did she do this? Did she do that?”
Ashley Graham’s Botox Didn’t Work for Her
Graham revealed she tried Botox in the past but didn’t love the results. “I did not like what it did to my face,” she admitted. Instead, she turned to alternative treatments.
The mother of three now swears by facial acupuncture with Dr. Sandra Chu. “What it does is when the needle goes into a place of tension in your face, it’ll relax the muscle around it,” Graham explained. “I see this amazing doctor, Sandra Chu, and she is fabulous. Oh, the whole face is covered.”

Ashley Graham’s Intensive Acupuncture Experiment
In a 2023 TikTok video, Graham detailed an intensive week-long acupuncture experiment. Dr. Chu stayed with her for seven days, performing two to three hours of daily treatments.

“She knows how much I love acupuncture… so we decided to needle me every day for like two to three hours a day, basically to experiment on what it does to my traps, my face, butt, quads, shins, my feet,” the former America’s Next Top Model judge explained.
The treatments included various traditional Chinese medicine techniques: “We’re going to be doing gua sha, cupping, moxa, old traditional acupuncture with needles.”
Her Philosophy: Natural First, But Open to Options
Graham made clear she prefers natural approaches but remains open-minded. “I know some people are not really into gua sha and cupping and needles, but I’m here to tell you that I’d rather do that than put some chemicals in my body, just saying!” she emphasized.
However, she quickly added: “But not opposed to a little Botox.”

Jones Weighs In
Co-host Sheinelle Jones shared her own perspective during the conversation. The 47-year-old journalist declared she’s “good” and not interested in receiving any facial procedures at this time. “I haven’t had anything yet, but one day, if I feel like I want to do something… let’s take the shame out of it,” she said.

Jones emphasized the importance of removing judgment: “Let’s be nice, and we’re going to take the shame out of all the things. Live your best life.”
The Bottom Line
Graham’s honest approach reflects a broader cultural shift. More celebrities are openly discussing their relationships with cosmetic procedures, whether they choose them or not. The model’s willingness to share both her natural preferences and potential plans helps normalize these conversations for women everywhere.
